Participants must be 19 years of age or over and must sign a waiver/disclaimer.
Children are permitted to accompany adults, but cannot purchase poker hands, or participate in the poker tournament.
Participants must provide their own dinghy or small tender, and comply with all municipal, provincial and federal laws, bylaws and boating regulations.
The consumption of alcohol is not permitted during the event. Water will be available at the registration desk. A charity BBQ will be available upon return for a donation.
This is a rain or shine event. There is the risk of getting wet, so participants should dress according to the conditions.
Registration is $25 per poker hand and restricted to the first 100 paid hands.
Registration opens in advance online or by making alternative arrangements with the organizers.
Any left-over hands will be available for purchase for $30 at the registration table.
Registration opens at 11am at the Cedar Springs gazebo.
At that time, participants will be provided with a wristband and instruction pamphlet that includes the locations of the card stops.
Opening ceremonies start at noon – and will include the voting and awarding of the prizes for decorated dinghy and costumes.
Prizes will be awarded for Best Decorated Dinghy, Best Dressed Group, and Best Individual Costume as selected by participant ballots.
The mass departure will take place at the end of the opening ceremonies.
The card stops can be visited in any order.
At each stop, participants must show their wristband and will be provided with a card inside a sealed envelope. One card per wristband.
THIS IS NOT A RACE, but you must return to Cedar Springs by 3pm. Those arriving late will be disqualified from the tournament.
Envelopes must be presented UNOPENED at the registration table.
Opening any one of the envelopes will result in either disqualification or the need to purchase an extra card.
Extra cards will be available for purchase for $10. Maximum two per hand, while supplies last.
The game is five card stud.
Top three hands as determined by organizers will win prizes. Lowest non-poker hand will also receive a prize. There may be other random prizes.
A tie will be determined by cutting a standard deck of cards. High card will win. Aces are high.
All organizers’ decisions are final.
Everyone must sign a Liability Waiver and Disclaimer before they can participate in our event.
Forms will be available at registration, but in order to streamline the process, we ask that participants print out the document from the website (click on Waiver in the menu bar) and read, sign and have it witnessed in advance to present at check in.
